Introducing WAvE-Tech

The Problem

There are over 25 thousand commercial flights in the sky on a single day, but out of all these pilots flying these aircraft, 90.6% of them feel fatigued. Although accidents are not a common occurrence in aviation, even one life is too many lost. In the past there have been numerous accidents caused by pilot error due to fatigue and tiredness, but with WAvE, we strive to give pilots a better quality of life and eliminate the risk of pilot fatigue. WAvE will help to cultivate a safer airline experience.

Why WAvE is novel

Currently, there aren’t many ways to prevent pilot fatigue in the cockpit. Pilots are usually required to get 8-10 hours of sleep by regulation, but there are no other measures to prevent fatigue. The FAA says that pilots should get enough rest and should take walking breaks or coffee breaks while flying. However, WAvE can revolutionize the industry by not only alerting fatigued pilots and giving personalized tips, but also collecting valuable data which the employer can use to improve the schedule of the pilots and allow for better rest to ensure passenger safety. The current methods are only preventive, but WAvE is proactive and enables employers to take greater measures to make aviation safer.

Our Vision

WAvE's competitors are still in the research and designing phase or have entirely different focuses with aviation as a side focus. We believe that our analytics and alerting system are greatly advantageous to potential customers. Since we are also focused largely on aviation (but can easily expand to other transportation-related fields), the flexibility of our product can help us thrive and expand in the future. Furthermore, getting a sponsorship or partnership with an airline will enable us to solidify, test, and launch our product, allowing us to quickly become an industry leader.
